: The backup may be a few days or weeks old. Any bookmarks added after the backup was made will be lost. That’s why regular manual exports are important.
Chrome also syncs bookmarks to your Google account if you’re signed in and have sync enabled. Sync is a lifesaver for cross-device access but can sometimes cause conflicts or deletions if not properly configured.
Now, let’s locate those files.
Open Chrome and press Ctrl + Shift + O (Windows) or Cmd + Option + B (Mac).
