While EZCAD does allow you to import bitmap images (like JPG or BMP) for grayscale photo engraving, it treats them differently than vector graphics.
Check this box if you want the laser to vary power based on image darkness.
Select the image, go to the properties panel, and check Grayscale . You can also check Dot (dithering) to break the image down into tiny dots, which is ideal for engraving photos on metal or slate. Save or export the file as a DXF
