Export your vector lines as a DXF, and export your bitmap images separately as high-resolution PNGs or JPEGs. Recombine them in your final design software. 4. Duplicate or Overlapping Lines
Share clean engineering vectors with clients or manufacturing partners who do not own a Ruida laser.
RDWorks will only export (lines, arcs, circles, and polylines). Any bitmap or raster images ( .bmp , .jpg , .png ) intended for laser engraving will be ignored during the DXF export. If your project contains a mix of engraving and cutting, you must export the cutting vectors as a DXF and handle the imagery separately. Method 2: The Direct Import Shortcut (Using LightBurn)
: Delete any stray anchor points, overlapping lines, or hidden guide layers in your RLD file before exporting. Overlapping lines will cause your laser to cut the same path twice, ruining the material.
Any platform claiming to convert .rld online should be thoroughly vetted. Never upload proprietary, patented, or sensitive client designs to unverified online conversion sites. Troubleshooting Common Conversion Issues
Open Inkscape. Import the BMP/PNG screenshot. Select the image, go to Path > Trace Bitmap (Single scan: Edge detection). Click "Update" and then "OK."
If the RLD file contains 2D geometry (lines, arcs, shapes) rather than just data tables, you can try a universal CAD converter.
