Set the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) on Cylinder #1. The timing mark on the crankshaft pulley must align with the "0" mark on the timing chain cover.

Rotate the crankshaft until the keyway on the crankshaft snout points straight up (12 o’clock position). The timing mark on the crankshaft timing sprocket should align with the indicator on the block. Set the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) on Cylinder #1
